Not a badge an agency can award itself
The International Air Transport Association is the trade body of the world's airlines. Its accreditation programme decides which agencies are allowed to sell and issue tickets on behalf of those airlines, and it is not given for the asking.
An accredited agency has been examined on its finances, its staff and its premises, and it stays accredited only while it keeps meeting those conditions. Money for tickets moves through IATA's own settlement system rather than sitting in an agency's account, and the accreditation can be withdrawn.
For a traveller that is worth something specific: the ticket is issued directly, on the airline's own stock, by a company an industry body has checked and continues to check.
What it changes for you
Financial vetting
Accreditation requires audited finances and is reviewed. It is an outside check on the company holding your money, not a claim we make about ourselves.
Airline settlement
Payment for air travel clears through IATA's settlement system, the same mechanism the airlines use with every accredited agency worldwide.
Air and ground together
Flights, transfers, hotels and guides are arranged by one company, so a changed flight is a change we make rather than one we pass on.
About our accreditation
It means the agency has passed IATA's financial criteria and that payment for air tickets settles through IATA rather than being held by us. It is a real check, though it is not the same thing as a consumer insurance scheme — ask us what applies to your specific booking.
We can issue on the airlines available to accredited agents through the global distribution systems, which covers the large majority of scheduled carriers.
